The book explores the relevant terms and definitions within the topic of ‘copying’ and ‘originality’, how copying can be and is used within art and within inspiration and artistic learning, as well as the ethical responsibilities of an artist and designer regarding the act of ‘copying’. This is achieved using text and visual information, as well as real-life examples in the form of images within the book.

The edited imagery within the book reflects the concepts and themes presented within the context of the book and Dissertation, regarding the execution, context and intention of the artist, determining the value held within a copy.
The imagery being edited and placed within the book recontextualizes the originals, replacing the original meaning of the source image with an new original meaning, that fits within the context of ‘copying in art’. If the imagery used was not recognisable as a copy, it would not generate the same effect while in the context of the artefact, therefore holding less value within this context. This was the intention of myself as an artist.
